ROPE ACCESS Diploma

formation CQP1 ouvrier cordiste

A profession on the rise!
The first professionals were rock climbers recruited to maintain the glass surfaces of tall buildings and structures. Today, these acrobats are mostly painters, masons, roofers, and welders trained in mountaineering techniques and difficult access work.
Real "Spider Men" of the building trade, these rope access technicians work at dizzying heights that no machinery can reach. Hitched on, equipped with ropes, a harness and carabiners, they inspect cranes and huge factory chimneys, renovate overhanging roofs, install and maintain towers and pylons. During construction of highways or bridges, they climb along the cliffs to install safety nets or carry out dynamiting.
The need for rope access technicians is growing. For the last ten years, the turnover of companies specialising in work at height has increased by an average of 30% per year! In the construction industry there are now 250 employers and 4 000 employees.

N.B.
Even if a professional diploma is not REQUIRED to apply for work at height, many companies now ask for one.
Also, the Decree 2004 - 924 that amended the French labour code states that workers using rope access techniques must receive adequate training specific to the work envisaged and rescue procedures in place.

Validation
A joint evaluation by the CRET and the National Union of Mountain Guides (Rope Access) results in a validation of the trainee's skills in line with European regulations in force.
Obtaining the Certificate of Professional Qualification in Rope Access level 1, is subject to passing tests organised by the DPMC!
